Question by justme: How do you download a driver for a printer/scanner/photo printer?

I got this for my daughter & I need the driver.

Answer by JesterRay
Yahoo Search “Printer name driver download” the first hit will usually be the manufacturers site and they will have the driver download you need under Support.

You should have got a disk with the device though which will have the driver.

Photo printer with scanner any recommendations?

Question by Bethannie W: Photo printer with scanner any recommendations?

I want a photo printer first and foremost. But I also need a scanner and the ability to print everyday stuff. I want one that prints quality photos and that the ink is lasting or at least reasonable. I am taking photography and need to be able to print quality photos at a sometimes large size. Of course I want something cheap but it isn’t looking like I’m going to find with what I want. Does anybody have any recommendations?

I want to start restoring, editing and enhancing images. What would you recommend as a good scanner which can also scan negatives and a photo printer so I can print the completed images?

As far as photo printers:

The consumer website below (Consumer Search) collects and consolidates reviews for all types of products and makes recommendations based on their analysis of various reviews. The link below is for their latest review on photo printers (from Dec. 2008):

http://www.consumersearch.com/photo-printers

You may also want to look into Consumer Reports…the last time they reviewed printers was in their November/December 2008 issue..perhaps they will be reviewing them again soon (check the index of the most current issue). They also publish a yearly “Electronics Buying Guide” which includes printers. Both of these (the magazine and the Electronics Buying Guide) should be available at your local public library.

In addition, Castle Ink (the company I work for) has posted an article which gives some tips on what to look for in a photo printer :

http://www.castleink.com/_Top10InkjetPrinters.html

As far as negative scanners…Consumer Search has reviewed some scanners, including ones that are capable of scanning negatives as well as one dedicated “film” scanner (Nikon Coolscan V ED) which I take to mean film negatives. The review for that particular scanner is the last one/near the bottom of the page linked below: :

http://www.consumersearch.com/scanner-reviews

Hope this helps,

Kerry
